City Responsiveness
Many cities are having success in being responsive and nimble organizations, so that they can initiate and implement projects within a short term. If elected, how would you interact with City administration to ensure that the organization is responsive to changing needs and priorities in the community?

Absolutely we must act!
We as an organization must act swiftly as opportunities arise however there must be due diligence as well. I have seen The City act quickly when necessary, just ask Save-On Foods on the north end. From the time they contacted the city for help to the day they opened was a mere 6 months; rezoning, MPC approvals, design and construction in 6 months. Save-On Foods at the time praised The City for the excellent service and well laid out land use bylaws which made it easy for their designers to conform to our standards. The key to being responsive is to have the ability to share ideas and brainstorm without fear of being criticized for your ideas regardless of how silly they may sound. It has been my experience that Council in the past was very capable of sharing ideas and brainstorming and many times bits and pieces of individual ideas melded together to form a great idea. We need thinkers, visionaries, idea persons on Council. These type of Councillors will have the ability to be responsive.
