Vote for Anne Marie

I will be a strong voice for kids, families, and our community.

I will work hard to ensure stable funding for our Catholic schools.

I believe in a strong future for publicly-funded Catholic education in Alberta.

I believe that fundraising for educational "extras" should not be necessary in this province. Those "extras," like educational field trips, library materials, computers and other technologies, or playground equipment, are not "extras" at all, but are actually "essentials." Those things directly contribute to student success and well-being, and should receive full government funding.

I believe that Alberta school boards need to remain locally elected. Local school boards cannot be allowed to go the way of our former local hospital boards (which used to also be elected and therefore more responsive to their local community).

I grew up in a politically active family and understand that politics really matters and does make a difference.

I believe in servant leadership which truly puts the needs of those I serve first.

I am a community leader ready to lead in a new role - as a trustee for Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools. Born and raised in Red Deer, I work part-time at Red Deer College (RDC) Library as the Marketing & Events Coordinator. I have extensive and varied volunteer experience. My current activities include:

I have been married to Brad Baumgarten for 18 years, and we have two children, Joseph (14) and Jennifer (11), who attend École Camille J. Lerouge School. As a Red Deer Catholic graduate myself, I know that our schools concern themselves with the mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being of students.
