Hello, my name is Kaliana and I have two children Kasandra and Jacob aged 12 and 11 who go to the same schools that I did when I was young (makes me feel old, lol) and I have lived in and around Red Deer for 32 years. I have volunteered in private, catholic and public schools that my children have attended since starting school and have served on PAC's, school councils, been a fund raising co-ordinator, City Wide Rep and last year served as the Chairman of the City Wide School Council for Red Deer Public. As my children are school aged I also have hands on experience as to what is happening in our schools and the concerns of the parents, the teachers, the community and the municipality.
 

I have the knowledge, experience and the determination to see that our public school system remains one of the best in the world! Thank you to the Red Deer Public Library for this forum page and helping me get the word out to the citizens of Red Deer that I am running for a position on the Public School Board in the coming elections on Oct 18th. Please feel free to ask any questions or contribute any ideas you have regarding the state of our public education system. I will update my page as time goes on so check back often!!
