My name is Hilary Penko. I am a wife, mother, and neighbour.  After living in this community for the last few years,  I can honestly say I truly love Red Deer. In discussions with many people, my political qualifications have been questioned. Honestly, I have very little political experience, but I believe that in many ways this can be positive. I am an open, and approachable person, willing to listen to all sides of an issue before arriving at a conclusion. My concerns for Red Deer are the same as many in this city: safety, fiscal responsibility, and involvement in community. I am an avid supporter of the democratic process, in many ways, it was what started me on this journey. As a committed, and hard-working individual, I will listen to the citizens of Red Deer, to what we want, and what we need as a community. For me, the most important part of these municipal elections is that the citizens of Red Deer have a choice. Voice your concerns, be heard, be involved  and turn out to vote on Monday, October 18, 2010.
